ANDRO 50 round settings

You voiced your opinion and its been taken into account. People still have influence in the round as youll see from the settings as well as the post above yours.

@kingray made a thread where you can post your suggestions, which you did. So I dont know why youre trying to create a problem when there is none.

I understand where Hala is coming from. Some people, new or otherwise; may not necessarily want to voice a written opinion about round settings - it’s easy to just click a few options in a poll.

I guess all Hala is saying is that its nice for people to be given the option to choose to feel involved; that’s all

The literal only difference is, instead of poll I asked what you’d like. I didn’t give you multiple choice nor did I limit your choices…i said that the settings will mostly be similar to previous rounds, mostly meaning that the changes made would be suggested by the players…

Either way I have already asked pie and soul to do a poll for settings l. But even then some things will not change. Such as the amount of planets, number of players per family, and the amount of drafts. Any thing else is up for discussion…

I’m sure your not the only one that feels this way.

So we have 2 threads where, as far I people voiced their opinion, it seems many people are looking forward to smaller fams, we don’t :man_shrugging:t3:

It’s not up to you to decide what I care about and what not.
However, in this particular case the problem for me wasn’t so much Kingray planning this , but more specifically Soull saying ā€œKingray stepped up to plan Andro 50. Didn’t see anyone else stepping upā€ - as if not stepping up means losing any right to influence the shape of the round.
But if settings will be same as last round, I’m curious how the galaxy will fill up. I for one will skip a round again

Oh no, you will be missed

Hala is making a valid point rawr. With the playerbase on a decline or at least not increasing then it’s good for everyone to feel involved.

  1. You need to cheer up @Rawrr you miserable sulk.
  2. @Soull you need to be wary of creating rifts or issues with your posts, try to be a neutral and stop leaning towards people you play a round with. Learn from Pie he’s a good example at that.

I get a sour feeling as if there’s a posse who know the set up ahead of time, I’m 100% sure you have discussed it with people in a family or group chat and alienated the rest of the community, this doesn’t feel good for everyone else.

I was given details about the set up by someone, I was shown maps even before you raised it in the forum.

So are you asking for opinions in the forum from the community and then shitting all over them and just listening to your buddies. Explain.

I don’t know what this odd personal, aggressive attitude is coming from, but keep it up and you’ll be playing just by yourself.

How can you be 100% sure if there’s no evidence of it happening? It’s a gut feeling, that’s all that is. Also fwiw it’s not true, I’ve only discussed the map with @kingray and he’s combining everyone’s opinion into a round apart from that without any backdoor dealings. Probably finding a middle ground between the two or more extremes when it comes to variables (1-10x starting rez vs 100x starting rez for example)

Everyone suggestions was taken into account by me.

You make a valid point here, honestly though the person he has been doing the most communication with is me…not his family. Granted he has talked to them about the settings I proposed(but it’s not supposed to be hidden), and the only other player I let know about pcount, fam size, and the amount of families is Suv because he was making the map and had to take it into account.

I can assure you this is not 100% accurate.

Settings were never meant to be a mystery and then revealed. I continually asked soul to ask people what they want. Furthermore, I told Soul once I was done to run everything by Pie and make sure he was fine with it. Even up to 1 hour ago I asked Soul to put up a poll thread to appease people, and make sure no one felt left out…

Also the Map was never meant to be a mystery either. I just wanted to finalize everything, hand it to pie, let pie create a post and ask people if they were fine or what changes they wanted.

He hasnt even done that, he hasnt talked about the upcoming round much at all, only mentioning you and I were setting up the round and asking me if I’d sent the map to pie yet.

Doctor Drae — Today at 1:55 PM
Any idea on how big the fams will be next round?
Suvarius — Today at 1:55 PM
3 player
5 planets per system, 15 fams

Didn’t know Soul was the same as Suvarius :man_shrugging: the more you know

Transparency would be nice, everyone should be afforded the same opportunity to set up for a round. This just seems a bit messed up. Not saying you did, but you could know the fam size, picked your team, selected your roles, selected a theme, made a strategy before anyone else even knows the details. That’s not fair.

Rounds shouldn’t be set up by players.

Surely to negate this, can’t we agree on reverting back to the previous method: Settings Poll to allow everyone a couple of days to vote - will clear all this sort of stuff out and give definitive answers

I vouched for anonymous play and no drafts to counter the same cliques playing together over and over again. No idea if that’s happening though.

As for transparency:

Starting rez are unknown, Soul and I have been asked for our opinions on starting rez and we’ve all submitted a different answer. Kingray’s taking community feedback into account to base his decision on that.

Other settings besides the fam/system parameters are unknown as well, King will probably make a decision on that soon, again based on community feedback.

Kingray just wanted to create a special round for Andro 50, since that’s a milestone number. He doesn’t actually decide round settings based on his absolute will though, he’ll always factor community feedback into account, even the map settings (3 man fams, 5 planets per system, 15 families) which the map was based on and built accordingly to accomodate for these parameters.

Initially people leaned to a similar andro round as the last, then they swung to smaller families and as such we now get smaller families.

And here’s the definitive map @OrBit

Some of those HS clusters have more systems in than others.

The two at top centre for example, have 21 (105 planets) whereas the ones immediately right and left of them have 24 I think (125 planets).

Good catch, will sort that out, probably was busy balancing them out then attention got grabbed by a different detail.

I’d like to believe I was the only one boring enough to sit and count those little dots but, I probably won’t have been haha
