I talked w @Darrk about this, and what we can expect.
In short: I agree with all of this. Some of what it entails is already in progress, and some new things will need to be built to support it fully.
I will post more details soon as I translate the request here into smaller feature chunks for the roadmap.

A bit late to the party what I am hearing is people wouldnât mind playing ,but want to play with their friends. Even if itâs every once in a while. People can contact who they want to play with and prepare for it.
Not sure how this would work with the current pre round and auto setup of galaxies
Even it was set for months in advance could revive the game if even for a round once a year.
