I can’t vouch for this iteration of it, but back in early MW days the ‘council’ was mostly about preventing other families from being vultures during wars, as well as to discourage extremely lopsided wars from becoming a complete annihilation of families.
If a bunch of smaller families ever ganged up to take on a top family, I’m not sure the Honor Police would’ve had a problem with it. Speaking as a Harkonnen, I believe we would’ve welcomed the challenge.
What this thread is, is a couple of players wanting to form a chat #chan that has the power #death did.
However their parameters are entirely the opposite of what #death’s unstated parameters were.
They could have a go at it, but they would need to:
To actually ask why it existed.
Listen to the response.
Internalize something they haven’t considered.
I have seen the channel #death in last 24 hours of many a round go from 3 people idling for 2 months and 29 days to 100+ impactive member of uni in it. all with ops discussing a heated topic.
Rooting for someone to pull out a win.
Consoling the losers.
Torching each eachothers logic with well thought out arguments.
Friendly bantering about the great rounds, talkign about amazing plays and great tactics in the round.
Comparing stacks for the jump.
No on was opping, not the players assembled there.
Or, (when the issue came up) in the case of some game breaking issue true leaders of thousands of players ending all the strife with a few words.
Umby would say “no”
TnT would say “No.”
Smaug would say “nopes”
And judgment would be passed.
I know, I owned it from Round 2 to round 20.
Don’t even need to tell you who passed it to me.
I shared ownership of it with Chill, because he really knew how mirc worked, and how to fight the script guys. I have never said that before, no need. #death was never attacked
Whatever this is, it is not that.
However, it could be!
But everyone has to be equal, and no one talks until it is needed.
Truly, neutral ground.
