Suggestions on how to publicly handle ban data

Pie didn’t allow us to shame you, you did. You can’t stop people from roasting you for cheating even if he deleted every post in the forum about it. We still have discord and private chats in discord where you guys are being roasted.

Actions have consequences. You tried to ruin a round and screw over the entire player base and are mad people are trolling you for it? Sounds like a you problem.

You are using 6 wins as your example of being good? Wow…I can think of 6x off the top of my head that I won. And 4 of those were fams I was leading and no, I didn’t cheat!

If I were to go all the way back since I started playing including fams I was just a role-player that number would likely be in the neighborhood of 12-15 wins easily. And those are just MW and Capricorn (when MW was merged with all other gals).

If you are looking to try build yourself up, pick another player. While I have no doubt I have not won the most of all players that have played the game, I am without a doubt among the top 20 players in that category.

And pickle you are missing the entire point. I pointed out the hypocrisy. Personally I never said that cheaters should not be shamed for what they did. I stated that it should not be a “don’t shame them” speech given and then turn around and allow/do the opposite of it. If pie should choose to allow public shaming then the end result of that choice is on his head. But if that is going to be allowed, then bullying of all forms should be allowed as well since it is in the category.

Your definitely a very tough individual. A true KEYBOARD WARRIOR.

P.s i couldn’t give 2 shits about what ur saying fool. Been trolling your candy ass. Thanks for taking the time

I don’t dispute that one. Although I don’t recall laughing, if I did I definitely showed lack of neutrality on the matter.

This is the part I don’t follow. The team isn’t responsible for other people laughing at a cheater. There is no bias being exposed by showing our process.

This would be an improvement, but it is still insufficient. This information should be easily accessible from a player’s public profile.

It takes so much time because your explanation doesn’t make sense. You haven’t shown me anything here.

There isn’t anything inherently not neutral about disclosing this information. If a player gets caught cheating, and that information becomes public knowledge, where is the lack of neutrality?

Why should we forbid players from criticizing the cheaters who compromised the fairness of their 6 week investment of time?

If you cheat and get caught and it becomes known, people will judge you for it. That’s one of the many reasons you shouldn’t cheat.

You’re misrepresenting my position.

I never said players are not allowed to publicly shame, I said that my intent in posting the rule violations was not to publicly shame.

Shaming is allowed. It is now however, the reason why we post these things.

That is as far back as this forum goes. That is like 6 wins in 9 rounds … 2 of which I didn’t play (I think you “won” one of those actually).

All of your past wins are now in question anyways, I wouldn’t be surprised if you cheated back then too. I mean if you have to cheat with such a small player base now, who knows what you were doing back then.

If you guys want to compare personal win histories, please take it to PM.

Let’s keep this discussion productive and on topic.

Thanks.

@I_like_pie

On my phone so perhaps im not explaining this correctly.

If the point is to display the cheaters to the community so the community are aware of who to play with etc etc THEN that should be the purpose.

Hence my idea to have an Index. List of cheaters and punishments. Have it right on top of the uni news or nee category etc etc.

Allowing other players to see the cheaters and punishment is the point right? So then why have it in a discussion thread where the players enemies or people who dislike the individual get an opportunity to point and laugh. That is where the admin team loses neutrsloty. Not in your punishment or display but allowing the public to basically stone the body after the hanging.

I hope thats more clearer. If not then perhaps you just want the display as a discussion which goes against being a neutral judge.

Imagine a judge who passes the sentence and says " ok world now its time to comment on this low life piece of crap".

Im not blaming you and knowing you i know your not a mean person. But allowing others to bully isnt cool in a game man. We gotta deal with that crap day in day out in the real world. We come here to escape and play with our friends. I dont mind being labelled. We got caught and we admitted to it more than once and agree with everything but the public lynching.

Even back when we had 5k players or so people knew who cheated etc. When nai and opti got caught it was huge. A few threads were made by players and talked some crap but never did stefan or lizzy who was in charge post about.

When the authority posts the crime and punishment it should not be allowed for the citizens to troll others about. It opens up a can way worse. Its fine if you keep it that way. But mark my words, there is much more cheating and catching to come and players will be eventually turned off by the shaming of it by individuals and the admins allowing it.

Is that what Pie said?

Can you imagine a judge after sentencing someone, let’s use Cohen as an example, going on Twitter and Facebook and trying to stop people from roasting him?

I guess Pie could do this in the forums, but seems like a waste of time, even still that does not stop people from commenting on the cheaters. Like I said people will still comment other places.

I don’t think this is true though. It does not show a lack of neutrality to allow the community to comment on relevant news.

I’m not sure if neutrality is the right word for what you’re describing. Neutrality has nothing to do with whether or not I allow players to react.

So what if another player starts a new thread? Should we lock it? Should we outright forbid and ban people for discussing it?

I can start and lock a thread, but that doesn’t solve the issue you’re concerned about. Players will still talk. Are you suggesting that we don’t allow them to?

@Picklearmy

Not stating that im some god of a player. Or better than anyone. This is just a comparison with mr pickle. Since he wanted to post.

Played with much better players than myself. I actually am not that good. But dude compared to this @Picklearmy … easy work

Lol, what about any of that is impressive? Anyways let’s stay on topic

Last thing.

Pie is that a serious question? If it is then No of course not man?

All im saying is when you the owner and admin makes an offical banning punishment and crime post and in that thread you have people bullying and trolling it doesnt seem like a good thing.

Pickle made a good point about twitter and yes i agree that it exists but twitter is not the offical forum of the fbi or the criminal justice system.

Anyways i see we wont see it the same way. Difference of opinion. Ill rest now. Good talks boys! U too pickle!

Trolling isn’t allowed anywhere, but bullying is up to interpretation. We lean on the side of allowing people to trash talk each other, and if a player who cheats feels bullied because players criticize them for cheating, that’s a result of their decision to cheat those players.

So while I agree that the reaction you describe is unpleasant, I don’t agree that it is unwarranted. I don’t see any reason why players should not be free to respond to something that falls under universal news.

The suggestion to post a thread and then lock it seems like it would only redirect peoples’ conversations to their own threads. If we’re not trying to stop the reactions, why does it matter where it takes place? It’s not our intention to censor players.

Anyway, we’re getting fairly in the weeds here. If/when we automate this it won’t matter anyway as these staff created posts will no longer happen in the first place.

Btw thanks @HellRaizeR and @HydroP for being honest about your criticism without devolving into insults. Just like in real life, players on the other side of enforcement have a very specific perspective and deserve to have their voices heard.

Lmao. This game huh? All of you are embarrassing. :joy:
