Ok… now this might be being a bit out of touch, but I thought it’s worth raising it.
And just to be clear, this isn’t a “it’s not fair, replay the round!” post. I’d like to understand if I’m missing something.
Scenario: Its late in the latest round of MW. My fam and I are a little bored, so decide to do something fun. We know we probably won’t win, and we know that it’ll probably end up in us being beaten up, but it’s fun (which is the main aim of this game, I think?!)
So. We see that fam 31 has a pax. A big pax, with a big old population. We do a few quick calculations, and think that the pax can’t have anymore than 5 mil wizzies. So… what do we do? We jump little ol me with my 99% construction research… with 6.5 million wizzies.
So. Once NAPs are gone with 31 and 37, sparks start to fly…
31 smashed us straight away with a huge number of attacks. They were clearly a very active team, and did some damage quickly.
Given we weren’t actually interested in actually winning, we jumped very little fleet. It was all about having a play with wizzies.
So. I don my favourite sparkly robe, and give my hoard of wizzies a pep talk. This would go down in IC history, I say. We will never be forgotten… and then I mumbled something about “Freedom!!!” I must have been channeling Mel Gibson at the time.
We aim at the big pax. We take aim with a big ol Hypno… and splat. 300k wizzies dead.
Not to be deterred, as we are a brave and ardent race (think Spartans or Klingons here), we try again. E-storm this time.
Another 300k dead.
We try another couple of times, and we took a vote (which took a while, given I had to count the votes of 4.5mil wizzies). That’s it. Leave the pax. Hit their pop-banking Rev instead.
As a family, we had a good laugh and moved on.
Once the round ended, I discovered that the pax only had 1.1mil wizzies. We didn’t laugh quite so much then.
What had happened? How is it possible for 6.5 mil wizzies to fail so consistently and continually against so few?
I’m assuming I didn’t breed some sort of Hufflepuff-types. So, unless the pax from 31 had been interbreeding Gryffindors with Gandalf’s, something must be amiss.
