You may be right pie. I would agree that each case would be different.

Quite frankly I do not know cells, munder or frosty. Apparently munder knows me from the past at some point but the others do not seem to know me. The main point for me to get across is that if someone is going to tell me they will teach me how to attack then I am going to call them out on it.

Cells did that. He called me out and said he would destroy me. He is now banking…

And the other issue is that he uses poor examples to prove he isnt a bad player. He uses size and NW finishes in a round where he was an attacker and to be quite honest, those do not matter for attackers. Family and Banker/resourcer size and NW are the items that count. It shows an attacker did his job. Something I think I was proficient at back in the day.

The other example he uses is stating that 8 of us couldn’t kill him last round in Nova. Again, this is a poor example because he uses flawed points.

  1. We were not just fighting him. They had an alliance of 8 as well.
  2. He never attacked during the entire fight. He just turtled up and defended his planets as best he could. While that does show skill in preventing someone raping you, it does not show skill in his attacking.
  3. Here is the more significant point that hammers down point 2. We were attacking 5+ ticks away. That gave him ample time to continue to build more fleet and make it difficult to raid him. In that particular situation the advantage is largely in favor of the defender unless the attackers can afford such a large fleet that they can just obliterate the defenses. (we couldn’t).

So is cells a bad, decent, good, great player? I have no clue. I am stating that I do not believe he is good or great based on the body of work I have personally seen so far. Maybe the same can be said about me!

Lol i didnt attack? I had 8 players attcking me or funding each other to break me and i say me because all effort was directed towrards me unless you call attacking 2 broken and inactive players effort.
We did not have 8 active players like you.
We had 2 attacking 1 opping and one funding. Use had us out saved out numbered.
War started wile we all slept use attamepted to hurt us. All use did was break 2 players who were semi inactive do to rl.
I walked through 32 cpff ports all the same tick, i retook and held myself at my original pcount and infra income even tho i was being opped and attacked by so many.
You claim i did nothing but the bottom line is all use did was crash your fleet into me non stop losing all use built non stop then funded others who were not involved in the war and had 1 tickers or shares with me to attempt to break and kill me.

I did screw up at one point lost all fleet by not sending figs and somehow ottoman managed to fail a raid with 0 lasers 0 fleet defending and rebuilt in time to stop all others raid attempts.

Use funded ws last few days of round and he failed to kill me and lost 70% of his fleet the first tick i rebuilt he couldnt hurt me anymore.
Then i started back to work in rl and didnt log into the round last 72 hrs of it…oddly still stayed top 3 i think…hmm seems like you are not as good or as great as you claim to be.

And again i challanged ur family to war me last mw do to ur fam name claiming a banker beat munder. If your a child take that ti heart and start a vandeta to attmept to bash my name and game i cant help your that childish.

I disagree a bit with PIE, when you are as good as I am attacking and have perfected it to the point that there is no improvement possible then there is NO WAY the new guys can claim they are better than the old guys.

Anyway, this is my first round back and so far I would have to say we are doing what we said we could do so at least we back up what we said we could do.

We are number one in NW by a LONG way and if you LOOK at the MAP and SEE the LARGE area we CONTROL when we were stuck between two fams I would think you would have to at least agree the attacking skills has at least got out fam the BEST cored, defended amount of systems in the galaxy.

I mean look at our fams area of control then look at the planets that are still unexplored and see who controls more than 75% of the remaining unexplored planets and then try and tell me we do not know how to attack or that any other attacker could have done any better than the ones playing as attacker now.

also, Cell, I have nothing against you and because you don’t know me from old times like Pie, Death and many others I made up the title Legandary IC Attacker as a way to have fun in the forums but in the end ANYONE from back in those days will tell you I lived up to being one of the most feared and desired attackers of that era.

As for your history you posted above I will not be mean and say anything I will just post this from Draco days when it was HC fams and I set the record of taking over 3500 planets that round. :slight_smile:

Also our fam won Capricorn 4 of the first 5 times and that was back when there were many more players and attackers that knew what they were doing like PP, Impire, Kagar, etc… and we won 4 of the first 5 and that doesnt even begin to talk about MY wins etc…

I don’t doubt your skills @WhiteShadow, and you seem to be proving that you can still kick ass, but I do think there’s a misconception that new players have it easy just because the player pool isn’t what it used to be.

If anything, fewer overall players means there’s less cannon fodder and fewer rungs on the ladder to climb. The battles between top tier players might be more vicious than before specifically because there are fewer players, even if the disparity between top tier and second tier is larger.

I say this because although you yourself have come back and proven that you’ve still got it, others have failed to do so. That’s a credit to you for sure, but I wouldn’t be default expect that of Kagar, Impire, etc, to be top tier simply by returning. If anything, I’ve seen just as many instances of vets coming back and getting lost amongst relative unknowns.

I do think a 1v1 tourney would be interesting. Can players survive against their biggest challengers when their fam isn’t there? Is a great player truly great or do they mostly benefit from a skilled team. :thinking:

Hmmm Dont want to bad mouth anyone but cells is right. There was only 2 attacking, 1 ops and 1 funding. We lost most of our guys like he said to real life. The way LG infraed hard and kept us funded and the way cells was a machine attacking when he was really set up as a banker was so good. Scorp played well and was nice to see an active scorp back. Rumble is always a pain to me lol I like you rumble but for once i wish we was on the same team. We end up fighting everytime so far. All good fun and otto man was a one man army. Mel kept me funded non stop and really saved me alot lol. I dont really know if what i typed has helped but was a good round and we should leave it there. To future battles :smiley:
