Milky Way 74 is open for registration!

The following changes will take place for milky-way-74.

Population

These population changes are also game-wide. We will evaluate the impact after milky-way-74 to consider further adjustments.

Population Income Increase

Population income has increased from:

Gold production from population = (empire_population / 30) + 100

To:

Gold production from population = (empire_population / 25) + 100

Population Growth Rate Increase

Per-tick population growth rate has increased from .05 to .06.

Exploration Ships

Disable Exploration Ship Limit

milky-way-74 will be using a new galaxy setting that removes the cap on Exploration ship production.

Reduced Exploration Ship Build Time

The base cost of exploration ships has been reduced from 6 turns to 5 turns.

Races

Standard Races Only

milky-way-74 will be using a new race whitelist setting to run a standard-races-only round.

Additional Evolution every week

Every 7 days, all empires will receive an additional evolution (race change option). You can use it as soon as it is available, or allow them to stack and use them in shorter frequencies later.

Drafting Reminder

Remember, if you want to draft in a friend, make sure they use your draft code when they join. If they join without it, they will not be able to make it into your family afterward.

New players must graduate from Virgo to be eligible for Milky Way registration.

Do you start the round with 1 evolution or does the first one come after the first week?

It would be cool to create a new standard race if Customs won’t be allowed. Or maybe One Qezian per family? Because as it stands I think Quantam is the only race available with Infil op. And having Reva as the only pure banker race kinda limits things.

I do like the changes though! And it should make for a fun round
Just would be nice to have another couple race options to choose from than the same 5 standard we’ve always had.

Set fams at max 4, then wait for 10 people to sign up in here and open for 5th player. Easy.

would there be a way to give the starting res of 1 more player to a fam with a player less?
with expo limit removed the lack of a player shouldnt be that bad as long it´s not about starting res at BOR.

@YoungWolf_WiLd I hear ya! The limitation is by design though, and will require some new decision making and strategizing. The settings are already in place for this round, but we can definitely look at adjusting the races to improve the balance.

A race overhaul is planned in fact, and this round will give us some additional insight on how do approach that.

@Zeraph, we don’t plan to and didn’t last round. That’s why we cap new spots 24 hours before BoR.

@schniepel, that isn’t currently viable, but feel free to start a conversation in #roadmap:brainstorming about it. Suggestions have a better chance of happening if they are posted there.
