A couple that spring to mind are MostWanted (single handedly got me to 1k planets in Pinwheel one round) and Aleph (I remember he was crazy AF)
These been so many good players but if to choose one it was Altruist
Really all the members of the old Harkonnen and Tortuga Nebula Thugs families from the betas and early rounds. A ton of good players but much more for their take on the game and how they played it. Sure was aswome to be a part of.

Lots of great players through the history of this game. That being said, I will have a tough time picking some beta player that only played for 5 years as a GOAT.
There are still beta players currently playing this game and competing in big ways. So for me, it needs to be someone who was successful in the beginning of the game, the middle and the present.
