Deportation

Now that Empire Migration exists, we can start talking about easier ways to deal with rogue empires.

The current method involves marking them as rogue and, if they’re also recently joined, having to wait 48 hours before you can attack them. That’s far too much work and inconvenience.

At the same time, we don’t want to just outright delete rogued players either, as they have a right to play the game too even if they don’t get along with their family.

We could instead give the family the option to deport the rogue empire. To start:

  1. A player must at least exist in the family for 24 hours before being eligible for deportation.

    • This gives them a chance to make a case to stay.
    • This prevents families abusing this to ensure drafts in non-draft rounds.
  2. The deported empire only changes home planets, and keeps any other planets.

    • This makes a potentially dangerous possibility of deporting somebody to a new family who now has access to core systems.
    • This is not bad thing, as it allows for families to get rid of rogue empires, but still encourages conflict resolution as a better alternative.

Also, we need to decide between these options:

  1. This is part of leadership powers, meaning the leader can do this to whoever, whenever.
  2. At least 1 other player must agree for it to happen.
  3. A family vote (amongst active empires) is required for it to happen.

I vote for leader’s choice, but I would like to see some warning to other fam members, so they can also make a case for the one deported. Automated ingame message or HQ message?

Thus there should be 24hrs Rogue-time for the deportee, after leader decides to deport someone, in which fam members could talk to leader or vote someone else to lead (which could lead to deporting old leader too, oh the drama).
