A recent bug exploit was reported and has been fixed. While some players reported it, some also did unfortunately take advantage of it.
I have added a new enforcement tool and policy around but not limited to bug exploits:
Offending players can now be banned from the remainder of the current round + the following round of a given galaxy, depending on the severity of the situation. The ban message includes information on how to contact support if needed. This will not apply to players who accidentally ran into this issue: only where there is evidence of repeat abuse.
A change is also planned to exclude offending empires from rankings and from their team’s ranking calculations. This will not completely reverse the damage, but it will mitigate some of the impact. This will be applied retroactively when it is ready.
We appreciate everyone who reported and investigated this bug, but please remember that knowingly exploiting a bug may result in moderation action, regardless of the reason for doing so.
