As I said, there are ppl who are fair and have that good attitude. Otherwise this game would have been ruined ages ago.
I just have experienced something different too and the reason has been most often the drafted bunch, whose favorite line has been “our way, or the highway”. I have usually chosen latter and had my round ruined in the process.
Your pleasent experiences do not erase my past bad experiences though. I have been away for a while too. Things could have changed for better, but I doubt that the whole problem has been erased. In fact, if old players are coming back, some of them will bring old bad habits and attitudes back too. I brought my critique, some say whining, back.
I would prolly want to play in the same fam with you, but I also would like to have nice equal opportunity families for everyone and in my experience, best chances are with totally random fams.
Drafting is no solution for bad behavior. Not even close, people with the behavior you describe ruin fams regardless of being drafted or being random.
As I said, I do not see how this prevents assholes from behaving like assholes, nor solving the problem of cliques. People randomming together will clique together nonetheless.
I see the problem you’re describing, and I agree that is a serious issue, but I strongly disagree that limiting or removing drafts is the solution to that.
In general I think not accepting/including your randoms is the most stupid thing you can do, since it’s extra power to the fam, hence, there’s a reward in accepting and including randoms. However, maybe more incentives should be given to including team members, but I’m not sure how/what.
the problem is that the newbies are distributed to those fams who had lots of inactives removed, so they usually land in bottom families where they hardly find well organized fam interaction. i can only say, if u somehow not lose patience etc u can organize the fam for next round, remove the inactives and build up reliable core members. thats what i did and it was no fun last round…
Agreed. I think there should be a system where there’s like 60% of the spots reserved for players with more than 3-5 rounds and the remaining 40% can be filled with n00bs & returning players. Obviously % can be changed by game mods depending on the numbers of veteran players vs n00bs/returnees.
Makes for more equal fams and activity, makes galaxy more even instead of the usual 1/2/3 top fams and then a big gap to the semi-filled fams/n00bs. And above all should make for a lot more interesting rounds, when u go to war with a fam your size and there’s another 4 fams of equal size/nw to keep an eye on.
Instead of the current style where its pretty much decided before expo phase is over.
